You can help teachers build inclusive classrooms

Give educators Hope in a Box: detailed curriculum and ongoing training and mentorship on how to build an inclusive classroom. Amid the rise of book banning and censorship, these materials have never been more important. Together, let’s harness the power of storytelling to cultivate empathy, fight stereotypes, and save lives.

Hope in a Box is a project of Advocates for Youth, a 501(c)3 nonprofit.

Students internalize so many negative stereotypes about LGBTQ people from such a young age, including the idea that LGBTQ people don’t even exist in rural communities. My hope is that these books help students realize both the existence and the humanity of queer people everywhere, both in our little towns and in the world at large. I plan on sharing them with ALL my students.
